Dear CanCham members,

In Canada, interest in tennis has been on the rise, and so has the success of our top players. Tennis is one of our nation’s favourite sports, after ice hockey of course. To us, sports events are a wonderful way to celebrate with strangers and friends alike, and feel an emotional connection with our community.

So it is with great enthusiasm that the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam will be attending the third edition of the Vietnam Tennis Open, which will be held from October 23 to 29 in Ho Chi Minh City. We are thrilled that this city is becoming a central tennis hub, similarly to Montreal in Canada, and that the country’s most promising players have an opportunity to develop.

The newly appointed Consul General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, Kyle Nunas, and his team will also take part in the tournament: “The Consulate General of Canada is proud to support the Vietnam Tennis Open 2017, which aims to build the future of Vietnamese tennis by developing the country’s most promising young players and bringing in top tennis players from all over the world. We look forward to seeing our fellow Canadian, Peter Polansky and the other players compete,” said Kyle Nunas.

We have sent our best wishes to our fellow Canadian and rising tennis star, Peter Polanksy and we hope to see Canadians in Vietnam come out and support him. We also hope to see the Vietnamese community join us to cheer for Lý Hoàng Nam.

Sincerely,
